As you can see, I've now put up heaps of new photos of various items, including prices. Please have a browse through, read the information, and also check out the "older posts" section (as many of the dresses etc have already been pushed down there.
You can click on each photo to view it as a larger size.

And, again, please contact me at lauralai76@netspace.net.au if you're interested in buying any of the items, or having something custom made. Thanks for looking!

Fabric

These pictures are just to show some various fabric which I have available. If you like any of the dresses or overalls you’ve seen and want me to custom-make something for you, just let me know which fabric and design you’re after and I can do it. The photo showing red, brown and blue floral print fabrics are all corduroys. I can give you more information about the other fabrics if you’re interested. Please contact me at lauralai76@netspace.net.au if you’re interested in buying any of the items you’ve seen here, or if you want me to custom-make something for your little one. Please feel free to forward this blog address ( lauralaikids@blogspot.com ) to any of your friends and family who you think may be interested. Thank you!

Bags

These tote bags are great when you just need to carry a couple of things (you can fit a few nappies and wipes in there too!)

Price: $12

Pants and overalls

These overalls are suitable for about 12-18 months old, and are made from a vintage 1970s pattern. I made some for my girls a while ago, which they loved wearing. The grey pair have a farmyard bib and pockets, while the brown pair (which I think really suit the 70s design) have pockets made from vintage kimono fabric. The black yoga pants are in a size 4 and have been embellished with lacy bottoms, and a Joker playing card (from Alice in Wonderland) on the backside. I’ve added a close up photo of the card so you get a better view. Price: Overalls - $40 Yoga pants - $20

More singlets and onesies

Here are some more newer singlets, in brighter colours. These are for older girls, sizes ranging from 2-4 years old.

These onesies are all in size 00, but if you're after another size, just let me know and I can make something up for you. (Same goes for the singlets).

I'm really happy with how the bird onesies turned out, and the contrasting fabrics work well together. But I just love the Wizard of Oz inspired onesies (I thought the wicked witch and the "Poppies will put them to sleep" were just perfect for those bubs who don't sleep or behave so well!).

Price: All singlets and onesies are $15 each

Blankets

I've gone crazy with the camera this morning, and it's time to upload more photos of my other creations, to see what people think.
Here are some blankets which are for sale. These pictures show a selection, however I do have more, so if you're interested in a particular colour, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. In the "4 blanket" photo, these blankets are all gingham backed fleece, so they're suitable for colder weather, or to use as floor rugs for tummy time and play. Most of them are a large size, however some are a smaller size suitable for using in a pram or bassinet.
The "5 blanket" photo shows a selection of flanellette blankets, all in a large size. These are great as a swaddle for younger babies, or as a floor rug.

Prices:
Large fleece - $20
Large flannel - $18
Small fleece - $16

Singlets and Onesies

And again, here are some more items - singlets and onesies. There's really no limit to what can be done with these, so I've tried out a few different styles and designs on different sized singlets and onesies. My favourite though is the grey singlet with teal embellishments - I love the colours.

Singlets & Onesies are $15 each - please contact me at lauralai76@netspace.net.au if interested.

Bibs

As promised, I'm now uploading some photos of other products I've been making. Here are some bibs which I recently made. They are all double sided, and have a thick towelling layer in the centre to avoid any spills going through to the clothing underneath. These are large size bibs, suitable for toddlers, but I can also make them in smaller "baby" sizes.
The yellow bib doesn't have the towelling layer inbetween, as the top layer of this (the spotty side) is a plastic material, so it can just be wiped clean.

The bibs are $15 each and can be made to order. Please contact me at lauralai76@netspace.net.au if you're interested.

Some recent "made to order" items

I've been asked recently to make a few items for people, so here are some photos of those.
Hope you like them!

Alice

I decided to make an Alice in Wonderland costume for one of my girls to wear this Halloween, but it's far too big (this pattern is really gathered, but was quite difficult to adjust the sizing, so really it's suited to a 3 year old), which means she won't get to wear it until next year. Aside from the size issue, I was quite happy with how it turned out though!

More items to come!

As well as the dresses which I've already posted, I've been super busy making bibs, blankets (both fleecy and flannelette versions) and singlets/onesies. I'll post pictures of these very soon for everyone to check out. I will also post up price lists for all items shortly, but in the meantime if anyone is interested, just contact me via email for pricing, postage details, etc.

For sale

These are some dresses which I've made to sell.

The first 3 are pleat front dresses from an early 1970's pattern. They are to fit size 2.
There is a blue dress with lace detail on the front. The first green dress is made with vintage 1970s fabric and yellowish buttons. The final green dress has a "dill" pattern on the fabric.

The next 3 are a pinafore style dress:- pink floral; denim with Japanese lady; and the final one is made with vintage kimono silk on the front, and a matching purple fabric for the back.
These dresses ar
e for age 12 months (although my girls wore these until up to approximately 18 months).

The final 2 are for age 6 months and have a gathered yoke neck. The blue one is made with sweet vintage fabric. The denim one has contrasting orange pockets and stitching. This dress pattern is from the late 1970's.

Dresses for my girls

Here are some photos of dresses which I have made for my daughters - although they don't fit into these yet!! I really love the red dress (photo shows front & back), which is made from a 1960's pattern, and buttons up along the back.
The brown dress with the denim back is actually the same pattern, but the sleeveless style and made in a longer length. This will be great in winter as well, worn with tights & a long sleeve top underneath.
This greenish floral dress is
also made from a vintage pattern, from early 1970's and I just love the pleat up the front and the button shoulders.

Welcome!

Welcome to my brand new blogspot! I should give you some information about me, so you all know who I am and what I do. I'm a mum to (nearly) 2 year old twins. I've been sewing for years, but have recently stepped it up a bit, because I wanted my girls to wear different clothes to what is in the stores. I like things that are a bit different, and since a lot of other people seem to as well, I'm creating more items which I hope to sell.
As well as blankets, bibs, and singlets, I've been making dresses using vintage styles and patterns, and I try to use fabric that is a bit out of the ordinary too - vintage, or vintage-inspired are my favourites.
As time goes on, I will post photos and things up here for everyone to check out - please let me know what you think!
